Board Spotlight - Lauren Richardson

Lauren joined the OHAAT Board of Directors in 2023, and chairs the Communications Committee. She has brought exceptional energy and insight to the communications aspect of the Beds for Kids program, and we are grateful for her passionate support of the mission to end childbedlessness. Get to know more about Lauren below:

What is your profession and what is your favorite part of your role?

I support Comcast Business as a Senior Director of Strategy and Analyst Relations. The most exciting part of marketing is developing a deep understanding of people—what they care about, what needs they have, and figuring out how to address both in a way that feels personal and meaningful.

What about the OHAAT mission and work really motivates you?

Supporting families by providing foundational bedtime items—things many of us take for granted—is something that really resonates with me. Most people can easily understand the importance of a good night’s rest and having a space to call your own. That’s why I feel so motivated to raise awareness and bring more people into OHAAT’s mission. The team’s passion, the impact they create, and the way the work directly improves lives are all so tangible and relatable.

What is your favorite part of being involved with OHAAT?

I love that the mission focuses on children in the greater Philadelphia area, which is my hometown. It’s such a privilege to volunteer and help shine a light on communities that have been a big part of my own life.

What was your favorite book to read at bedtime as a child?

Quick as a Cricket by Audrey Wood.
