The Beds for Kids program is committed to ensuring that every child in Greater Philadelphia has a safe and comfortable bed to sleep in. We are proud to provide our staff with opportunities for growth and learning, fostering a constantly evolving, collaborative, and dynamic work environment. We are seeking a dedicated and organized Operations & Volunteer Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operations of the program and coordinate the activities of our passionate volunteers. This is a full-time, salaried position with fully on-site or hybrid options.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management:

  • Oversee the logistics of bed procurement, storage, and distribution.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and manage the program’s supply chain.

  • Coordinate with delivery teams to ensure timely distribution of beds to families.

  • Track and report on key performance metrics, including beds delivered and impact data.

2. Volunteer Coordination:

  • Recruit, onboard, and train volunteers to support program activities.

  • Develop and manage volunteer schedules to align with program needs.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for volunteers, ensuring a positive and fulfilling experience.

  • Organize volunteer appreciation events and recognition initiatives.

3. Community Engagement:

  • Build relationships with schools, community organizations, and stakeholders.

  • Represent the program at community events and networking opportunities.

  • Serve as an ambassador for Beds for Kids, promoting awareness and engagement.

4. Administrative Support:

  • Maintain accurate records of program activities and volunteer hours.

  • Assist with grant reporting and fundraising initiatives as needed.

  • Support the Executive Director with additional tasks to ensure the program’s success.

Person Specification:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Social Work,or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in operations, volunteer management, or program coordination.

  • Experience working in nonprofit or community-based organizations is a plus.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools.

  • Ability to manage logistics and supply chain processes effectively.

  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Comfortable in a physically active role and able to regularly lift 30 lbs.
