Summer Fundraising Campaign Update

Thank you so much for your continued support of our Summer Fundraising Campaign. So far, we have raised $13,721, all thanks to our generous community! Will you help us reach our goal of raising $20,000 to be able to be able to provide beds for 100 children in need in our area?

Every day we receive referrals to help children like 8-year-old Jacob. Jacob’s family lost everything they owned to a house fire in August 2020. Jacob’s Dad lost his job during the pandemic, and they are relying on visits to local food cupboards to help them each week. Jacob has two younger brothers, his 6-year-old brother has Downs Syndrome, and he also has a younger 3-year-old brother who struggles to sleep through the night. All three boys were sharing an old air mattress to sleep on each night, as Jacob’s parents could not afford to replace the furniture lost in the fire.

Philadelphia has the worst poverty rate of the ten largest U.S. cities. Twenty-six percent (26%) of Philadelphians—between 377,000 and 413,000 people—live below the federal poverty level, including 37% (126,000) children.

Thanks to donations from supporters like you, Jacob and his brothers each have brand new beds and bedding of their own! The family told us they are all sleeping better now that the boys each have a comfortable place to sleep at night, even getting up for school every day has been easier!

Jacob and his little brothers can’t say thanks to each of you directly, but we can! Thank YOU! We are so grateful to have supporters like you who make the Beds for Kids program possible. With your help, we are able show families and children that they matter, that we won’t let them fall -- they are not alone.

Our goal for our Summer Fundraising Campaign is to be able to continue to provide beds for more families in need by raising $20,000. We can’t do it without help. As you know, there is great demand for the Beds for Kids program. In 2021 we have already delivered over 800 beds! Will you consider donating to help us continue to provide this much-needed program to children in need who don’t know what it’s like to have a bed of their own?

Thank you for your time, We hope we can continue to count on your support. We cannot continue this mission without your help.
